A warm welcome to AIDO, the newest member of our team at The Dreamer Designs.

Well… technically, our newest AI teammate.

AIDO is another brainchild that came out of our Friday Workshops.

It started with a fairly simple conversation:

“What if we had an AI intern?”

Not another AI tool that we occasionally open in a browser.

Not another subscription that everyone forgets about after two weeks.

But something that could actually become part of our everyday workflow.

Something we could delegate work to.

Something that understands what we care about, helps with repetitive tasks, and gives our human team more time to focus on the things that actually require human intelligence.

That conversation slowly turned into experimentation.

And fast forward to today we have AIDO.

So, What Is AIDO Going to Do?

We’re starting with some fairly practical responsibilities.

Meeting notes.

Instead of someone spending time writing, organizing, and sharing everything discussed in a meeting, AIDO can help capture the important information and turn conversations into something useful.

Daily news.

There is simply too much happening in AI, design, development, marketing, technology, and business for everyone to follow everything.

We don’t need more news.

We need the right news.

So AIDO can help surface updates based on what our team actually cares about.

Research.

Whether we’re exploring a new technology, preparing for a project, researching an industry, or trying to understand a new idea, research can consume hours.

AIDO can help us get the initial information together faster so our team can spend more time thinking about what that information actually means.

Reports.

Gathering information, organizing it, summarizing findings, and creating first drafts of reports are all areas where AI can remove a lot of repetitive effort.

And that’s only where we’re starting.

As we use AIDO more, we’ll probably discover dozens of other things we can delegate.

The Goal Isn’t to Replace Human Effort

That’s an important distinction.

We aren’t building AIDO because we want humans doing less meaningful work.

We’re building it because we want humans doing more meaningful work.

There are tasks that need creativity.

There are problems that require experience.

There are decisions that demand judgment.

There are conversations that need empathy.

There are ideas that need curiosity.

And then there are tasks that happen every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in almost exactly the same way.

Why should talented people spend their best hours doing those?

If something is repetitive, predictable, and can be delegated reliably, perhaps it should be.

Work Should Be Interesting

This is probably the bigger idea behind AIDO.

We believe work should challenge people.

It should require thinking.

It should allow people to experiment, create, question, solve problems, and occasionally come up with something nobody expected.

People shouldn’t spend half their day copying information between places, organizing repetitive notes, searching through the same sources, or manually preparing things a system could prepare for them.

That’s not necessarily where human talent creates the most value.

So we’re exploring a different direction.

Let humans think.
Let humans create.
Let humans make decisions.
Let humans build relationships.

And wherever possible:

Let AI handle the redundancy.

From AI Tools to AI Teammates

We’ve spent a lot of time experimenting with AI at The Dreamer Designs, and one thing we’re becoming increasingly interested in is moving beyond simply using AI tools.

The next step is figuring out how AI becomes part of the actual team workflow.

Can you assign it responsibilities?

Can it understand context?

Can it reliably complete repetitive tasks?

Can it make information easier for humans to use?

Can it give people back meaningful time?

That’s what AIDO is helping us explore.

We’re not expecting it to be perfect from day one.

Just like any new teammate, there will be things to learn, processes to improve, and probably a few moments where we wonder what exactly it’s doing.

But that’s part of the experiment.

AIDO started with a Friday Workshop conversation about an AI intern.

Now it has a place on the team.

Let’s see where it goes from here.
