Are you successful?
I recently came across a thought and here is my take on it…
You have π― π°ππΏπΏπ²π»π°πΆπ²π:
1. ππ»πΌππΉπ²π±π΄π²
2. π§πΆπΊπ²
3. π πΌπ»π²π
When you need one, use the other two to get it.
Think about it.
Most of our working lives, we use our knowledge and time to make money.
Sometimes, we use money and knowledge to create more time for ourselves. We hire someone, delegate, automate a process or simply pay for convenience.
And throughout our childhood and early years, money and time are spent to acquire knowledge.
School. College. Courses. Books. Experiences.
We keep exchanging these three currencies throughout our lives, sometimes without even realising it.
But there is one exchange I find particularly interesting.
Money can make money.
We have heard this all our lives.
Invest. Build assets. Let your money work for you.
Yet, surprisingly, this is probably the least leveraged equation for most people.
We continue exchanging time and knowledge for money, while rarely reaching a stage where a meaningful part of our money starts creating more money.
And this equation doesn’t work quite the same way with the other two currencies.
Spending more time doesn’t necessarily create more time.
Acquiring more knowledge usually requires either time, money or both.
Money has this unique ability to multiply itself if deployed well.
There is another side to this thought.
An π²π π°π²ππ πΌπ³ πΌπ»π² π°ππΏπΏπ²π»π°π can sometimes start eating into the others.
Too much free time without purpose can lead to financial struggles.
Chasing knowledge endlessly can cost time without creating equal value.
And too much money can dull the drive to learn, explore, and grow.
There will always be exceptions, of course.
But perhaps the real game is finding the right balance between all three.
And while we’re busy juggling Knowledge, Time and Money, we often forget three other valuable aspects of life.
Things that aren’t currencies because they aren’t really meant to be traded.
Family.
Friends.
Health.
Maybe these are what give meaning to the other three.
You can have all the money in the world and still not have people to share your happiness with.
You can have tremendous knowledge and still not have the health to use it.
You can have plenty of time and still not have people you genuinely enjoy spending it with.
For me, success is probably having all six in a state where none has to be sacrificed for the other.
A happy family.
Friends to laugh with.
A healthy mind and body.
Money that gives you freedom of choice.
Knowledge that helps you create value.
And time for the little things that bring joy to yourself and others.
Yet even the most successful rarely achieve this balance.
If you have, drop your name in the comments. I would genuinely love to speak to you, know more about you and hear your thoughts on life your thoughts on life.
